Clan Chief

Message from the Chief

Sir James Grant of Grant, Lord Strathspey 33rd Chief of Clan Grant

Dear Kinsmen,

I am delighted that Fiona Grant, our UK Chairman, is able to send you greetings on my behalf.

I have to tell you that I am most impressed by the amount of hard work and effort put in by so many of you – the new look ‘Craigellachie’ and the excellent website are just a sample of all the exciting things that are happening, not to mention the unseen work of just keeping things going!

All of this contributes to enabling you to keep in touch, not only with your kinsmen (and women!) in the United States, but also with the other clan members and associates all over the world. Although not technically minded myself, I am aware that the improvements in modern communication systems have meant that this is now much more feasible.

Back home in Scotland, we are doing what we can. We have managed to forge some excellent links with the now modernised Grantown Museum; they are very keen to work with us and in the long term we hope that they will help us to provide better access to Duthil Kirk our Clan Centre. The promised online Journey Planner is looking good, but needs a bit more work and we hope that it will enable those of you who would like to visit your ancestral home to get the most out of your trip.

My very best wishes to you all

Standfast Craigellachie!

Your Kinsman and Chief

Strathspey
